Silk heritage
An inimitable history inspired by our region’s silk heritage and expressed in centuries-old vineyards with an indigenous character embodied by the Bobal, Monastrell and Merseguera grape varieties.
History
Murviedro comes from ‘Muri Veteres’, the old walls that surround the old town of Villa of Requena.
– 1929: wineries open in Alicante, Utiel and Requena.
– 1931: Schenk España decides to concentrate its activities around the Valencia winery.
– 2002: 75th anniversary and birth of the name ‘Bodegas Murviedro’.
– 2010: The winery focuses on indigenous grape varieties to make the most of the region.
Vineyard
Casa de la Seda comes from Murviedro’s most important and special vineyard. 10 hectares of century-old vineyards known as ‘El Ardal’. The result is a wine with notes of ripe fruit, spice, persistence and silkiness.
