Our jobs

The grape’s value chain from beginning to end

Patrizia

Category Manager

Patrizia Mordasini

As Category Manager and Head of Procurement of foreign wines for the Schenk Group in Switzerland, I’m privileged to have a very varied job close to the product.
I am passionate about wine, and my job allows me to work with producers, buyers, sellers and consumers alongside my colleagues on site or abroad. This human contact at all levels is highly rewarding and motivating, and these intense and vital exchanges contribute hugely to the quality of our work.
Knowing the entire value chain of the product and the market is crucial for offering the best to our clients and consumers, and in particular for identifying and discerning the specific requirements of each distribution channel.
It’s a job that requires curiosity, rigour, and good communication and negotiation skills, as well as an aptitude for discovering gems and spotting market trends.

Directeur Marketing UK

David Tromans

As Marketing Director UK, it’s the uniqueness of my job that drew me to the Schenk family. To keep up with a highly competitive market, holding your own in terms of marketing content requires agility and creativity day in, day out. Even though we are part of the family Group, our local team is modest in size, so we have to be multidisciplinary and work together with our colleagues in other markets as much as possible. Defining our marketing strategy is fascinating work, however it means nothing without considerable involvement at operational level. I’m a bit hyperactive, I hate to be stuck behind a desk not getting my hands dirty, so it’s the perfect role for me in a wonderful international family.

Director of Schenk Spain

Marc Grin

I’m part of an amazing team at Bodegas Murviedro in Spain. I have the pleasure of working every day in the Group’s most Mediterranean branch in Requena, just 40 minutes away from the beautiful beaches of Valencia in the wine-growing hills.
My father was Managing Director of Schenk Spain between 1989 and 2010, a position which I had the honour of taking up in 2016… The idea of family, heritage, and passing it on is at the heart of much of the Schenk family story. My job is fascinating and pushes me to challenge and reinvent myself every day. We seek out new markets and consumers by listening carefully, and that can come through innovation, but always by capitalising on our technical expertise of 130 years. We endeavour to offer high quality wines that are respectful and accessible to all wine lovers. Today, we can even create fresh, easy-to-drink wines from indigenous varieties known for their hardiness… We produce elegance and lightness. Wines from the LoAlto estate are particular examples of this.
One of my main challenges for the future will be to come up with new strategies to adapt to the (very rapid) market changes, and I am optimistic and passionate about this. As Winston Churchill said, “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity, the optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty”. Cheers and long live the family!

Human Resource Manager

Noelia Pedreira

Before becoming Human Resource Manager, I was an applicant.
In this context, I especially appreciated the authenticity and respect that I experienced at each stage of the recruitment process. This approach made me want to be part of the adventure.
Now, in this role, I want to continue in this vein with every applicant and every colleague.
As a new employee, I discovered that the information I received during the recruitment process wasn’t just hot air. I’ve noticed that the staff at the heart of our Group are passionate and competent.
Furthermore, we are kind to each other, even when we have to show courage in the more difficult times. Thanks to our collective intelligence and the part each individual plays, there is a creative solution to every obstacle.
I’m very happy to be part of this big family!
